Does Men Machine deliver what it promises on the outside?
MenMachine is a collective portal into three gay magazine's content: Men Magazine, Freshmen, Unzipped. There is also a sparing amount of ChiChi Larue's video preview clips thrown in. That's it, pretty much!
I have seen all three of these magazines also appear as feeders on various other websites, so little of the content was really new for me.
What's good about Men Machine? What needs improvement?
The overwelming majority of this site's content is image galleries - lots of them collected from the three magazines going back into the 1990's. I have to say that "named pornstar" photo galleries have lost their glimmer in the new age of amateur shot video. The lack of novel video content is a HUGE detriment and makes this site feel dated and stale. I believe Playgirl is having the same dilemna, both in its paper mag subscriptions and its related website, although they have at least attempted to mix in some softporn vids on the website.
The easy answer is that videos need to be shot along with the photoshoot and play the greater role in the content. I am not sure why these three mags haven't caught on - other than I suppose that they buy syndicated content instead of shooting their own. I think these mags have to mutate to survive or fade away. We ain't happy with photo galleries no more!
