Does Mike 18 deliver what it promises on the outside?

Mike18.com is another entry in the "reality" genre of gay porn websites on the 'net, where the visitor follows the exploits of one hot twink as he explores his sexual needs with various other peer-group twinks. In addition, the website also features other models, in solo, duo and group action, that do not involve the main character Mike.

While the concept is interesting, the site is rather low budget. The original Mike, a smooth, small-dick, pretty Russian twink of about 5' 5" in height, and whose photos have been bouncing around the 'net for years is featured for the older of the website's content, but then a similar "Mike" seems to have replaced him in newer postings--this new Mike being a bit taller, not as pretty, and not quite as well toned in body.

What's good about Mike 18? What needs improvement?

While the concept is a neat idea, in practice this website does only a marginal job on making one excited by the porn presented. The video quality options for download are either "DVD quality" or "Medium Quality," without any bothersome passwords or locking features, so you can save them and play them on your computer even after your membership expires.

But after perusing the site, my question became "why bother?" The so-called DVD quality is nowhere near that--it is, at best, similar to medium quality video that I've played on other gay porn sites. The photo sets are of good quality, obviously taken with a good DSLR 35mm camera, not simply some lothisome vidcaps. They do offer a ZIP download feature for photo sets, a handy feature that all premium sites now offer, but they do hit one of my pet peeves on the head in that the photo sets and video of their sex takes places usually in just one of two places--the same wooded glen, or same bedroom/couch area that may have some of the sheets changed so colors are different.

The most bothersome part of what I saw was that, when having sex (and yes, it's all 100% condom, no bareback here), they models look disinterested, even can be clearly seen looking around with expressions of "geez, am I done yet? I want to go play some xbox" looks on their faces as they look away from the guy blowing them, or while fucking, look away with a similar facial expression.

Every climax shot is done at the end, where the boys jack-off to reach their apex, usually just spurting on their own chests, with a rare occasion of cumming on a model's face. There's no (really hot!) cumming in the ass, or spewing all over the face and then licking it all off the dick and face... just 100% safe sex which, combined with the disinterest of the models, made for a rather unappealing and unexciting experience for me as a viewer.

The site offers "bonus" materials, but all of the video in this section was so horrendous, I hesitate to mention that the stuff exists.

How is Mike 18 unique?

The "reality" aspect of the porn site is it's only unique feature. The site is rather low-budget, since the models are almost always the same group, the locations are limited, and the attempt to make things diverse and interesting is nonexistent. Combined with often-disinterested models who just go through the motions as directed for the camera, and the site just doesn't have the level of excitement and interest that other gay porn sites do.

While the site has some features that make it stand with the "big boys" of gay porn sites--downloadable, no-security-features video and ZIPs for photo sets--the quality and quantity of the porn, and the low update frequency, just doesn't make it worthwhile.
