Does Freshman X deliver what it promises on the outside?

At first I thought that this website was a spin-off of the popular "Freshman" magazine site, but it appears in fact that although the name is similar, the hosting is separate.

Like many such gay porn sites, the splash page at the top of the website is attractive, promises all sorts of hot boys just inside if you join, and for the most part it delivers fairly well on this promise.

With updates 6 days a week, you'll see plenty of new items during the course of your membership, and it's not just a few photos added to an already existing photo set for a model.

What's good about Freshman X? What needs improvement?

The boys are mainly 18 to 25, mostly Caucasian twinks with a smattering of "bad boy" and "gym boy" types thrown in. There's no bareback action that I could see in the photo sets or video. The content is about 70% solo action in the video and photos, and about 30% paired models having sex in the same formats.

There are convenient ZIP downloads for photo sets (always a plus!), and the video is easy to download with a one-click step from any model's page... and plays just fine in both WMV and RealPlayer. (Some video is listed as being "HD" but I didn't see much difference on my computer between the regular and HD versions.)

The boys are mostly pretty hot, although as with any site there are some duds... but they seem enthusiastic as they ply their trade for the camera. The one bit of a let-down was the fact that all video and photos are done inside, using pretty much that same rooms and furnishings with a little window-dressing to make things look slightly different--I'd rather see some more versatility with setting and location to "spice up" the content.

How is Freshman X unique?

With mostly proprietary models and content, and frequent updates, you'll get your money's worth with this site--but as far as standing out among a crowd, it's not really all that.
