Does Boy Ride deliver what it promises on the outside?

We hand pick all our straight guys by pounding the pavement in Southern California, selecting only the freshest faces and hottest bodies under the sun."
DELIVERY: Excellent on gallery photos (33 sets of 30 to 60 pictures each) (20 of the boys had a bios page which was great). 35 boys had "flix" with 2 to 5 streaming videos per boy - 2 to 4 min duration each (real, win and MPEG options), but I found this section unsatisfactory as explained in next paragraph. The selection of boys was right on target as advertised, and in my opinion some of the hottest on the net I have seen. There is a store and they have 2 DVD's of boys in their site available (one available in VHS also).
What's good about Boy Ride? What needs improvement?
What's great - the selection of boys - just as advertised and all clean cut young energetic types - gallery pictures are good quality, and particularly liked the slide show option that showed all the gallery pictures in a "hands off" show with 5 to 10 sec per picture. The 20 Bios pages were good with some additional information on each boy, with direct connections to the flix, slide show, and the gallery pictures for each - good organization, and some also had "behind the scenes" out takes which were fun. Needs improvement - the streaming video - while it seemed to offer MPEG and WIN player options I could not get either to work on any of the sets - and I went to other sites to check my system and they worked on the other sites. The real player option worked but the quality of the video was very poor - dark contrast - pixilated and stalled or jerked. Big disappointment for me as the quality of the boys was so great and the gallery pictures which
seem to have come from the video were also of good quality.
(NOTE: The preceding test was done utilizing my usual browser - Netscape 7.1 - when I looked at the site using internet explorer all three types of video worked but regrettably the video quality was still unsatisfactory when I enlarged the picture to 1/2 screen size. :-( I also found a couple of "URL not found" links - but that's not unusual for a site of this size.)
How is Boy Ride unique?
Not unique - but the quality of the boys (if this is your type boy) is great. Organization is reasonably easy to navigate. There are a couple of duo scenes - which are claimed to be "1st gay sex" for one of the participants in each scene - I saw no commitment on the site as to how often it will be updated - but there seemed to be significant new material in the last few weeks to suggest that the site content is growing.
What do paying users recieve for their money?
At $24.99 per month it is on the high side - but because of the high quality of their models I would join IF they get their streaming video up to standard quality - as it is - I'd be a one month looker and move on.

The front page promises the hottest young men of southern California, while each video starts with a sequence that promises sufers, skaters, and sex. And it's true that there are plenty of good looking surfer and skater boys here -- it's just that the website itself doesn't really do them justice. Read full review

I have been stopping around Boyride on and off for years now, always hopeful that they would get their act together. The site was largely out of commission for months lately, as they did their big "revamp" and I think they took the site a couple of steps backward in the process. Read full review

Boyride.com promises the hottest young men of Southern California, which as always is a matter of personal taste, but if you like your twinks to have that indie, skater-surfer look then you won’t be disappointed with this site, however yet again this is another site badly let down by it video delivery. Boyride recently received an updated look and new technology that greatly improves the site. The opening scroll on Boyride videos reads skaters, surfers, sex. The skaters and surfers are a nice mix of punk to frat boy twinks. The limited preview is accurate. Read full review

This site caters to you lovers of skater boys... biker boys... and any other type of mobile boy.. well,, at least thats what they promise in the dialogue leading into the site. Once inside, you're met with about thirty models, varying in type, from skinny skaters, to hairy "extreme sports" guys. Most of the guys are attractive, and some are action, but for the most part, its just your run of the mill pic sets, and videos. Also included is access to DudeDorm and CitiBoyz vid clips. Boy Ride promises a good selection of still photo sets and video clips of hot twinks and "bad boy" types, as well as the ability to purchase exclusive HVS/DVDs from its store featuring some of its models and lots of associate website content as a preview. It mostly delivers a solid return for all of these options, and certainly provides lots of varied content for you to enjoy. Read full review
