Does Active Duty deliver what it promises on the outside?
Activeduty.com is the military site of Dink Flamingo. Dink has been producing films since the 1990's and is like the east coast version (NC) of Dirk Yates (CA). I have been a fan of Dink's videos since pre-internet and imho he is far superior at capturing the hot moment than Dirk ever was. Dink knows how to coax, prod, flatter (even beg) and use the camera to produce some classicly legendary soldier footage.
That said, if you like authentic military J/O material, you are probably already familiar with ActiveDuty Production's content. This review however is for the internet site ActiveDuty.com and how much you will get of Active Duty Productions' content for your monthly membership.
To get off to a very bad start, there is a tricky pull-down "agreement page", which you must actually pull-down to hit the ENTER button. After that, a page of text telling of the joys of the AD site, then the "Take the XXX Tour!" button leads to a dead link. So, basically - no tour to speak of. You could, I suppose, go over to AEBN.com and scan some of the videos from Active Duty Productions to see what kind of stuff AD produces if you aren't familiar.
For your reference, AD is the same studio that was in the news earlier this year with several of the military guys getting reprimanded in the NC courts.
What's good about Active Duty? What needs improvement?
I have been a fan of AD studios for years and rented vids at my local video store long before the internet. So, I cannot dispute that Dink knows his craft.
Unfortunately, the AD site has always struck me to be a "user-paid ad" for selling the videos by mail. If you are fancying getting a whole video or selected scenes for your hard drive - you will be disappointed. Let me complain, I mean explain, going from left to right on the task bar:
1. GALLERIES are vidcaps of the videos and are plentiful. Pix are high quality for what they are and are saveable.
2. ACTIVE DUTY LIVE! are live shows, but the three guys that were shown all happened more than a week ago, so who knows when the next show is. There were pre-recorded shows available, but very few seemed complete (ended in cum or even nudity).
3. MEMBER'S SPECIALS was a free 15-min video credit at AEBN, which you can get anywhere.
4. DINK'S DIARY are personal notes from Dink, but hadn't been updated in ten months.
5. VIDEO CLIPS were plentiful, but are teaser trailers from the AD movies and not whole scenes. They all played in a dismal embedded QT player and their primary purpose is to whet your appetite for a DVD sale.
6. VIDEOS OF THE WEEK is a rotating selection of six of AD's full-length movies. However, they were all provided with DRM protection, and a downloading option was not provided. So you watch them "streaming live", period. They were pre-indexed, so you can instantly click around on your status bar without waiting for the entire movie to download - always a wonderful feature.
7. STREAMING VIDEO had been disabled.
8. STREAMING THEATRE offered 15 categories of AEBN monthly whole video feeds. These are the same offered on other better feeder sites, but note that these feeds are not unique to AD.
So, in summary - the six weekly rotating full length video features were the "meat and potatoes" of the site, are of high quality, but are DRM protected and are not downloadable.
How is Active Duty unique?
ActiveDuty Productions has produced imho the hottest military stuff around. It has that "mid-atlantic southern drawl" edge instead of the usual San Diego viewpoint. Hats off to Dink Flamingo for many years of successful video production!
This includes comparisons to other military legends such as Dirk Yates, Bobby Garcia, Uncle Don Ross, and Chaz.
What do paying users recieve for their money?
For $24.95 monthly recurring or $34.95 monthly non-recurring, you will get:
Scads of galleries of vidcaps from over 10 years worth of movie productions, scads of useless "teaser trailers" for the many movies produced by ActiveDuty, 6 weekly rotating DRM-protected - non-downloadable videos, and 15 categories of monthly AEBN full-length movie feeders (not unique to AD).
Figuring that the full-length features are the real draw here, with 24 (6 a week) monthly features, that's about $1.00 a movie recurring or $1.45 a movie non-recurring. AD has produced well over 100+ movies, so the weekly rotation could go on for quite some time before getting repititious.

Military men are always hot to look at, whether they be in their uniforms or out, so Active Duty certainly has hit upon a nice niche for their content. The boys they present are buff and horny and apparently love to get it on with their fellow recruits. Dirk Flamingo has been producing these tawdry videos for a while now so there is a lot of content that you can enjoy. There are a number of repeat models that fill the galleries, but every now and then a new recruit appears who is absolutely gorgeous and possesses that heady mixture of shyness and eroticism that is intoxicating. Active Duty certainly delivers on its claim to provide hardcore action between the hottest military men. Read full review

Some sites put the same set of dog tags on every guy and call themselves military. Dink Flamingo's Active Duty is the real thing. Dink learned his trade from a master and has been in business for several years. This is a quality amateur site where the all American servicemen are authentic. We know that because, unfortunately, some of his models were recently drummed out of the military under the shameful don't ask, don't tell policy. A few of the guys are civilians who fit the look of the true servicemen on the site. Read full review
