Cobra Media Group implodes their websites... again

Long before there was a GayGeek there was Cobra Photo (aka Cobra Media Group). They are a European-based company that specializes in twink photo sets and videos from around the world.
Cobra Photo is not to be confused with Cobra Video, an unrelated company whose owner was murdered two years ago. The management of Cobra Photo is alive and well, and is now engaging in one of their phoenix-like restructurings.
A little history. Cobra Photo has been around for at least eight years and probably ten or more. It started as a successful twink porn business in Europe that eventually expanded to models from all over the world. From the United States to Colombia to Sri Lanka to Russia, if there was porn to be made Cobra probably had a cameraman shooting it. The end result was a collection of what I recall was 20 or so twink websites on a variety of themes.

Around 2003 Cobra reorganized their websites. They merged many of them and rebranded the survivors as 11 "Original Boys" sites. Their new websites included Original Action Boys, Original Latin Boys, Original Euro Boys, and eight others. Eventually a new one was released as well, Original Princess Boys, which involved gender-bending twinks jacking off and having sex in a most feminine manner. Twinks in heels, if you will. Truly a unique website.

Interview: Jeremy Roddick

Among the new features for this blog is an interview series. I plan on doing regular interviews with people that work in the gay porn business. Not just porn actors, but as cameramen, video editors, webmasters, marketing professionals, and the like. Basically anyone who is involved in the business of attracting you, the consumer, to the porn that you enjoy so much.
Our first interview subject is the webmaster and host of Jeremy Roddick.com. He's something of a jack-of-all-trades in the business and, I think you will agree, also quite sexy.

GayGeek: Tell us a little about yourself. In what roles you have been employed in the gay porn business and what you are doing now?
Jeremy Roddick: I first started my career by doing live shows for a company that was based in Montreal. At that point I was doing my degree in Film Studies and Computer Graphics and I was about to graduate. I wanted to start something that involved the knowledge I acquired at university but also keep my feet in the porn industry. This is how I met two of my best friends who owns Videoboys.com and Squirtz.com. I decided to do a solo for Squirtz and a hardcore scene with Pierre Fitch for Videoboys; which basically started my career.
Since I was a little handy with the camera and the web design, I decided in 2005 to start my own site: JeremyRoddick.com which is actually taking most of my time. I am also doing the video editing and marketing for Videoboys.com and Squirtz.com.

Photographing Brian #2

One of the first ideas I had for this blog was an ongoing series about what it was like when I worked as a porn producer. From 1998 to 2003 I produced 37 amateur videos (over 150 scenes) and photographed over 250 different models. I did this not just in my home in New Jersey, but in cities across the world ranging from New York to London to Moscow to Bangkok.
Since my video camera did not lend itself well to capturing still images (much less non-explicit ones I can show on GayGeek), I figure I'll focus more on models that I photographed.
So with that, let's start at the beginning -- Brian #2, the first model I ever photographed. (The original Brian was one of my previous video models.)
I found Brian over the Internet and photographed him in my living room. How I specifically met him has been lost to time -- perhaps I put out a call on my website?

As with all blogs, what the GayGeek Blog will eventually become may not be what we anticipate doing today. As such, it's going to be an interesting ride for all of us.
