Photographing Brian #2

One of the first ideas I had for this blog was an ongoing series about what it was like when I worked as a porn producer. From 1998 to 2003 I produced 37 amateur videos (over 150 scenes) and photographed over 250 different models. I did this not just in my home in New Jersey, but in cities across the world ranging from New York to London to Moscow to Bangkok.
Since my video camera did not lend itself well to capturing still images (much less non-explicit ones I can show on GayGeek), I figure I'll focus more on models that I photographed.
So with that, let's start at the beginning -- Brian #2, the first model I ever photographed. (The original Brian was one of my previous video models.)
I found Brian over the Internet and photographed him in my living room. How I specifically met him has been lost to time -- perhaps I put out a call on my website?
While Brian wasn't exactly a Sean Cody model in that he had far from a gymnast build, he was a great model for a novice photographer. He was easygoing, friendly, had his paperwork in order, and best of all, he had no trouble getting hard.
Unfortunately, what was lacking was my skill as a photographer and decent camera equipment. A year later I would buy a fairly high-end camera, but at this point I was using a crappy digital camera that a friend gave me for free. The end result was a lot of photographs of Brian laying on the couch with his hardon in the air. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but over the course of a photo set the same pose gets old fast. It also makes for some lousy non-explicit shots set like this doozy in the final set.
One of my first lessons as an erotic photographer was that I had no artistic eye. Hence why I photographed a model with pale skin, dark hair, and a black shirt in front of a black couch. Bad idea. Brian was practically absorbed into the couch as you can see in the above pictures.
I did at least one thing right -- I decided that AaronLawrence.com would be a casting-couch website. Meaning I would become sexually involved with as many models as I could. Besides the fact that it struck me as an incredibly fun idea, I thought it would market well to fans of my escort services and amateur videos.
So I recruited my trusty husband to take a handful of photographs of me playing around with Brian. The end result was my presence in 11 of the 60 pictures in the set. I was usually holding or sucking his dick. In one shot I measured his dick with a ruler (he was exactly eight inches), although I gave up the ruler idea in subsequent sets as the less endowed models didn't particularly enjoy having their ego deflated on camera.
All in all, a fun photo set and an interesting learning experience. Several years of experience later would find me a much more skilled photographer, but in the meantime I was off to a good start.
